Thanks to you.....

I was able to train and challenge myself. I appreciate you creating the challenge and for inviting Brie. I honestly went on probably 3 more runs, just because I wanted to try to keep up with her. I know I cant in the new one she created. She runs marathons and I'm just not in that league (not sure I want to be). But, I did see my times increase by about 15sec/mile. I also ran 2 x 10mi, which I've never been able to do before. You helped me work toward my goals and for that I'm greatful. thanks again.

you did a brick today??????

Saw that you did a cycling workout, but you had also run as well. Did you do them back to back? Good for you, if so. That's a major step toward tri, plus all of the swimming you are doing.

Stanky....need help

I've officially hit a plateau. Been doing pretty much the same stuff for about 2.5-3mo so I guess it was bound to happen. we need to come up with another challenge that switches things up. I'm still training for that 1/2 marathon Nov 2. Sure I cant talk you into running it with me? I'm definately NOT in shape for it. The furthest I can go is about 7.5, and thats on a good day. Did 9 that one time, but I wasnt counting that because I was stopping ever 1.5 to stretch and drink water. I think I'll just forgo the swimming until next year when I can get back to the neighborhood pool. Biking has been great for me though. That shop I told you about that runs those rides on Sat and Sun are fantastic. I need to talk you into going with me. They are fun and VERY challenging. Interested in lunch next week? I still owe you for the challenge.

Swimming and biking

Hey Stan, thanks for stopping by the locker room. I try to get out in the morning for a 13-15 mile ride 6 days a week, but this week I have been pulling 20 hour days so exercise has been limited to sit-ups since Tuesday. It was hard to ride at first as it had been several years since I had gone any distance. But now, even with a mountain bike, it is actually quite invigorating as morning activity. As for swimming, yeah I need to get more focused, the problem I face,is that the pool I use is filled with people who use it as a way to relax and socialize instead of serious lap swimming. So I often wait 30 minutes just so I can get a lane to get in 30 minutes of swimming. I hate wasting all that time.

swimming

Hey Stan, I followed your swimming tips on Mon. It felt a bit weird to have my head completely down but I did notice the difference, I was able to swim 500meters non-stop. I'm going to try it again on Wed. thanks again for the advice.

swimming

thanks for the swimming tips. I'm wearing a one piece sport swimsuit, but I don't think is making me any faster :) I did 400m non-stop yesterday, I was spent after that. good pointer on the position of the head, I don't think mine is submerged completely, cause my neck usually is sore. how often do you swim?
